Found a blocker bug today in the OLPC software as shipped through the "give one get one" program (build 650). Trying to associate with an access point named "GĂ©rard" will make X (!) go belly up every next time you boot it!
This bug surprised me in two ways:
* negatively: just imagine a device like this shipping with this bug uncaught
* positively: the quick response by an OLPC dev in the IRC channel

Similar type of bug from Ubuntu, criticality "High" and open from 2005:

:-D
It's silly how some people still can't speak proper Unicode all the way, not even 15 years after its introduction.
Thanks forr a great read
